Professional Societies
Professional societies offer the opportunity to meet and network with industry professionals. ASME has an Aerospace Technical Division with more than 6000 primary members. The Aerospace Division’s objective is to promote the development and dissemination of the mechanical, materials and systems engineering aspects of aircraft, spacecraft and missile design and operation. This encompasses primary and secondary subsystems and components as well as the vehicles themselves and necessary life support equipment.

As a member of ASME, you can join the technical division and participate in activities such as technical conferences that can aid in your professional development. Staying involved in a professional society when you start working is also critical in keeping up-to-date with rapidly advancing technology. For more information, check out the ASME’s Aerospace Division.

In addition, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) is devoted to the progress of engineering and science in aviation, space and defense. AIAA offers career resources and planning services for its members. More information can be found at their website .
