In just over 100 years, scientists and engineers working
in the aerospace industry have made enormous contributions
to our quality of life, our security and our knowledge
of the universe.
As a result of technical mastery, the phrase "It’s
not rocket science" has become the verbal shorthand
for tasks that are not complicated since the implication,
of course, is that rocket science is complicated. The
aerospace industry, with its impressive accomplishments,
has fostered that public image. It requires intelligent,
highly-trained and visionary technical engineering teams
to develop the commercial jetliners, high performance
fighter planes, rockets and robotic planetary explorers
that are commonplace today.
The aerospace industry offers a range of possibilities and career
paths for engineers. From design to operations, from general
aviation to the next heavy-lift launch vehicle, there
are endless opportunities for you to contribute to the
