Timecards |
 |
| |
Accurate
timekeeping is an important aspect of your attendance
record and you will be responsible for recording
your time properly. Most companies use a timecard
or time sheet to track your attendance and hours.
The HR representative or your supervisor will instruct
you on the correct method for filling out the timecard.
Keep in mind that many engineering companies are
involved in multiple projects at any given time.
Typically, companies track costs by assigning each
project an account number or charge number. As an
engineer, you might find yourself working on several
projects at the same time, each with different account
numbers. It is essential for you to keep an accurate
record of the hours you work on each project and
to charge the appropriate account accordingly. This
is especially true for companies working with government
contracts. Knowingly filling out a false timecard
can get you, your supervisor and your company into
a lot of trouble. So make sure you understand the
company rules and keep an accurate record of your
projects and your hours. |
